Dave “DQ” Quisumbing, a widely known Jersey Shore bartender, entrepreneur, and nightlife personality, has died, leaving friends, customers, coworkers, and fellow business owners mourning a man remembered for his energy, hospitality, and ability to make people feel welcomed.
Bar Anticipation in Lake Como announced Quisumbing’s death in a tribute shared Monday, May 18, 2026. Daily Voice reported that Quisumbing was known across several major New Jersey hospitality venues, including Bar A, Green Rock, Park East, Porta, Headliner, and The Waiting Room. He was also listed as a part-owner of Green Rock, The Waiting Room, and Bill’s Supperclub.
Quisumbing was also the inventor of Speed Tin, described in reports as a one-handed cocktail shaker. According to his company biography cited by Daily Voice, he was a first-generation Filipino American, the youngest of four siblings, and a Rutgers University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. His professional path included work at The Cheesecake Factory from 2009 to 2014 before he became a familiar figure in the Jersey Shore bar and nightlife scene.
A GoFundMe campaign launched by Justin Palmer raised more than $15,000 in less than a day, reflecting the large network of people who knew him through hospitality, fitness, entrepreneurship, and nightlife. Daily Voice reported that the fundraiser described him as an entrepreneur, inventor, athlete, creator, and “connector of people.”
Quisumbing’s brother, Bernard, publicly confirmed that Dave had been battling depression, according to Daily Voice. The fundraiser also stated that remaining proceeds would be donated in his honor to Mental Health America and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation.
A celebration of life for Dave “DQ” Quisumbing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Bar A in Lake Como, New Jersey. Official funeral services had not yet been finalized at the time of the report.
