The St. Charles, Missouri, community is mourning the heartbreaking death of Danielle “Dani” Uskiwich, a beloved school secretary who died after suffering a traumatic head injury during a concert earlier this month.
According to reports, Dani Uskiwich attended Pointfest on May 16, 2026, when she was accidentally kicked in the head by a crowd surfer during the event. A GoFundMe created for her family stated that she later developed severe headaches and sought medical treatment, where doctors discovered a brain bleed.
While hospitalized, Dani reportedly suffered two strokes and was placed into a medically induced coma as doctors monitored dangerous swelling in her brain. Despite ongoing medical efforts and widespread community support, she later succumbed to her injuries.
Dani Uskiwich served as an attendance secretary at St. Charles High School and previously worked at Hardin Middle School, where colleagues, students, and parents remembered her as compassionate, caring, and deeply dedicated to the school community.
In a tribute shared publicly by Hardin Middle School, staff members described Dani as someone who formed strong relationships with students, parents, and coworkers, adding that she was a “kind face” who consistently supported students and families.
Friends and loved ones also reflected on her warm personality and joyful spirit. A message shared through the fundraiser described Dani as someone “with the kindest heart” whose warmth, humor, and compassion naturally drew people toward her.
Reports stated that Dani had been planning her wedding before the tragic incident occurred. Her family later honored her life through organ donation, with hospital staff participating in an emotional honor walk as she was transported for transplant donation procedures in St. Louis.
As tributes continue pouring in across Missouri, Danielle “Dani” Uskiwich is being remembered for the kindness, positivity, and genuine care she shared with students, coworkers, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
