GLENDALE, Arizona — Authorities in Glendale are investigating a tragic domestic violence-related shooting that left two young children and their mother dead following a violent chain of events that began outside a sports bar in the West Valley early Monday morning.
According to Glendale police, officers first responded shortly after midnight to reports of gunfire outside Tailgaters Sports Bar & Grill near 61st Avenue and Bell Road. Investigators say a 38-year-old woman, identified as Andrea Clarice Davis, allegedly arrived at the location and fired multiple shots toward her husband and another woman who were outside the establishment.
Police stated the 36-year-old woman who was struck during the shooting suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head while attempting to leave the parking lot. She was transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening and is expected to survive. Authorities confirmed the husband was not injured during the incident.
Following the shooting, investigators say Andrea Davis fled the scene in a gray SUV before later returning to a residence in Phoenix. Glendale police later discovered the bodies of Davis and her two children after officers forced entry into the home during a welfare check.
Authorities believe Davis fatally shot both children before turning the firearm on herself. Family members identified the victims as 10-year-old Austin and 18-month-old Andolan.
The heartbreaking incident has generated widespread shock throughout the Glendale and Phoenix communities, where residents expressed grief over the deaths of the children and concern surrounding domestic violence and mental health issues. Family members speaking publicly described the tragedy as devastating and unimaginable.
Investigators continue working to determine the exact sequence of events and any possible contributing circumstances surrounding the shootings. Glendale police and Phoenix authorities remain actively involved in the ongoing investigation.
